How the sticky printable works

Print it, stick it, stitch it, rinse it

No hooping the fabric itself, no tracing, no marking pen. The design goes on the paper, the paper goes on the fabric, and the paper leaves.

  1. 01

    Print the design

    Send your pattern to an ordinary desktop inkjet or laser printer. The coating takes ink without cockling or bleeding.

  2. 02

    Peel and position

    The low-tack adhesive lets you lift and reposition it on the fabric before you commit. Hoop the stabiliser, not the garment.

  3. 03

    Stitch straight over it

    Run the machine as normal. The paper holds registration and stops stitches sinking into pile or stretch fabrics.

  4. 04

    Rinse it away

    Warm water and light agitation. It dissolves rather than tearing, so nothing is left in the stitches to pick out.

Cut to your size

Sheets in A4, A3 or your own trim size; rolls slit from 80 mm to 1 300 mm to match your machine.

Your weight, not a catalogue weight

Coating weight is set on our own line, so a 45 g/m² or a 90 g/m² run is a formulation change, not a special order.

Private label and retail packs

Printed sleeves, header cards and barcodes for retail, or plain bulk for converting. Artwork handled in-house.

Consistent lot to lot

Same coating line, same QC. Tension and dissolve time stay where you set them when you reorder.

Questions we get

Can I use an ordinary home printer?
Yes. The printable stock is coated for standard desktop inkjet and laser printers. Feed one sheet at a time on older machines, and let inkjet output dry for a minute before peeling — that is all.
Does it leave anything in the stitches?
Not if it is fully rinsed. It dissolves rather than disintegrating, so there is no fibre to pick out. Dense designs and the heavy lace stock need a longer soak — stiffness after drying almost always means it was rinsed too briefly.
What water temperature?
Warm water at 30–40 °C with light agitation for the paper stocks; the film topping goes in cold. Hotter is not faster in any meaningful way and is harder on delicate fabrics.
Will it work on dark fabric?
Yes. The paper is opaque white, so a printed design reads clearly on black or navy — which is the main reason people use it instead of a marking pen.
Can it damage the fabric?
The stock itself is inert; the risk is the rinse. Anything that should not be soaked — leather, some wools, non-colourfast dyes — needs a spot test first, the same as any wet-removal stabiliser.
How should it be stored?
Sealed, at 20 °C and 50 % relative humidity, for twelve months. It is hygroscopic: leave a pack open in a humid workshop and it will soften and curl before you get to it.
